Greetings
This was a year of growth. Our garden has expanded, and we were able to provide our school partners vegetable starts Spring 2023, that we grew in our new greenhouse. Shout out to Preston Shivley for donating the labor. As I write this our covered picnic area is being built to be used for Tribal Revival 2023. The creator blessed us with generous donors and we look forward to a productive 2023.

Heartbeat 2023
Such a busy year!! Lots of collaborating with other native groups/organizations to share our developing garden and camp.
Hosted a canoe family (of about 50 people) at our camp for 3 days, during Canoe Journey. This was during the hottest part of the summer and having a large pool was greatly enjoyed by all.
Hosted classes on herbal salve making, beading, and basket weaving.
Tribal Revival this year expanded to include others sharing teachings from different tribes and thanks to our wonderful supporters we were able to serve salmon this year. (attended by 62 people)
Indigenous day, and earth day with our school partner continues to be successful events. The highlights this year were, having our young volunteer Sofia share with the children her experiences of canoe journey protocol and when Big Foot made an appearance, the children still talk about this. (attended by approx. 75 people each event}
Built a greenhouse, outdoor kitchen and picnic pavilion. Expanded the garden to create a larger medical garden, to support our local tribal members with herbs to share their teachings in herbal health.
Lots of consultation with families regarding working with schools, courts, finding native resources and gardening techniques.
Can not wait to see what the creator brings us in 2024.
Heartbeat Family Support Services
Hello friends,
2020 Brought some real challenges for our normal activities. We decided to use our time to prepare for the future. We have begun to develop our property on Tulalip, to become our future culture camp & garden.
2021 Excavating has been completed for the garden and camp. Were able to experiment with various planting methods (Hugelkulter, wicking buckets, hydroponic). Created a partnership with a local elementary school to help with a gardening program and provided our first cultural event on Indigenous Day.
2022 Goals are to complete the medical garden bed and examples of gardening methods in the demonstration garden. Establish a parking area for future Tribal Revival events and visitors to the garden/camp. Create the trail in the camp woods and stake out the location of a theatre in the woods.
As soon as we are able we will resume our yearly Tribal revival events. This year we will have our second Indigenous Day event.
