Heartbeat Family Support Services
Holiday & School Program
Heartbeat volunteers identify families in the community most in need and seek donations of holiday gifts and school supplies.
In partnership with others we develop various workshops and classes on Native American culture. This provides foster families additional opportunities to share with their children the importance of learning about their culture.
Heartbeat offer classes for parents on various topics such as Cultural Relevancy, Micro Aggressions, Children's Mental Health Issues, Managing Stress, Special Education and advocating for your child's needs
Heartbeat teams with various organizations to offer a yearly Native American cultural event. Volunteers from many tribes join together to provide activities designed for Native American foster children and foster alumni and their families
Consultation & Resource Referral
Experienced social workers and foster parents offer consultation for foster, adoptive and kinship parents. Heartbeat makes recommendations to families on where they can find needed resources and services. We now have a Facebook page and working to build it up to be a place foster parents can go to stay updated on cultural activities.
