Heartbeat's mission is to strengthen families and youth by providing educational and supportive programs and event. Heartbeat believes it is essential to provide innovative programs that meets the needs of our community. It is important to remain independent to be able to be flexible and change strategies as the needs change. Heartbeat's philosophy is that of collaboration and partnering with others. Sharing of resources and expertise maximizes resources and is cost effective. What makes our group different from others is some of our board members are alumni of the foster care system and committed to supporting children in care. Youth play an important role in our efforts; our elders strive to teach the next generation the importance of community and helping one another. This is what we call our "Legacy of Caring".
